MICHAEL B. SOSNA, OF COUNSEL

Michael Sosna brings nearly 50 years of experience as an attorney to the representation of his clients. Before Mr. Sosna concentrated his practice in bankruptcy law, he provided legal services in a wide variety of cases and uses this vast experience in different areas of law to the benefit of his bankruptcy clients.

During his legal career, Mr. Sosna has appeared in both state and federal courts, including the North Carolina Court of Appeals, North Carolina Superior and District Courts, the United States Bankruptcy Court, the United States District Court, and the United States Circuit Court. He has years of experience in domestic law, social security disability law, personal injury law, wills and estate law, employment/labor law, real property law, state and federal appellate practice, and criminal law.

Mr. Sosna began to focus his legal practice exclusively on bankruptcy law in 2002. Since that time, he has represented thousands of clients in all varieties of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, from the simple to the complex. In 2018, Mr. Sosna became “of counsel” to the firm.

Mr. Sosna is a member of North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and NCBA Bankruptcy Section.

PALMER E. “Tripp” Huffstetler III

Palmer E. "Tripp" Huffstetler, III joined Sosna Law Offices PLLC in 2014. Mr. Huffstetler is a third generation attorney and has always been drawn to the legal practice.

Mr. Huffstetler graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011 with a degree in philosophy and political science. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Huffstetler enrolled at Campbell University's School of Law in Raleigh, NC.

During his time at Campbell, Mr. Huffstetler completed internships with the Wake County Magistrate's Office, North Carolina District Court, North Carolina Superior Court, and also with the Wake County District Attorney's Office. Mr. Huffstetler served as a senior staff writer and ethics contributor for Campbell Law Observer.

After graduating from Campbell in May 2014, Mr. Huffstetler was admitted to the North Carolina State bar in August 2014. Since joining the firm, Mr. Huffstetler has assisted hundreds of individuals and couples in filing Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

Kimberly summerlin

Kimberly Summerlin, a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal since 2006, has more than 17 years experience as a bankruptcy paralegal, including working for a Chapter 7 Trustee and a large firm representing creditor interests in bankruptcy cases. She is also a member of the North Carolina State Bar Legal Assistants Division and has been with Sosna Law Offices since the beginning of the firm in December 2008.

Mrs. Summerlin graduated Cum Laude in 2002 from Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She is also a 1994 graduate from Johnson Community College with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Technology. In addition, she has many continuing education hours through the Eastern Bankruptcy Institute, the North Carolina State Bar and the Eastern District Bankruptcy Legal Assistants Seminars.

heather campbell

Heather Campbell has over 16 years experience of bankruptcy paralegal experience. She began her professional work with a private firm in August 1998 and has worked closely with debtors, debtor attorneys, including working alongside a Chapter 7 Trustee. The summer before graduating, she interned with the US Bankruptcy Court-Eastern Division. Mrs. Campbell became a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal in 2006.

Mrs. Campbell graduated from Wilson Technical Community College with her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Technology in 1999. She also has many continuing education hours through the Eastern Bankruptcy Institute, the North Carolina State Bar and the Eastern District Bankruptcy Legal Assistants Seminars.
